GlobalLogic makes a rare acquisition with Skookum
GlobalLogic announced a rare acquisition. The company took over Skookum, a digital agency headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
Skookum provides digital strategy, design, UX, and agile development, mostly for mobile apps and websites. The company has, according to LinkedIn, less than 200 employees. Along with its Charlotte headquarters, Skookum has offices in Denver, CO and in Atlanta, GA.
This is a tuck-in acquisition that strengthens the digital agency capabilities of GlobalLogic in the US. We are guessing that Skookum brings limited overlap with Method, the product design unit of GlobalLogic (that competes with Fjord, frog, and Ideo). Method is headquartered in London, with offices in San Jose, CA and NYC.
GlobalLogic change of ownership last year and the new owner is a Swiss PE, Partners Group. Partners Group has appointed high-profiles executives across its board and executive committee and seemed focused on organic growth. GlobalLogic now seems ready for tuck-in acquisitions.
